THE STORY OF LOST FOREST

"The gentle breeze was permeated with the lingering scent of pine needles. She wandered into the knotted labyrinth of the forest. Her foot thread lightly over mossed meandering pathways, long since swallowed by voracious vines. The dwindling glow of the departing sun snaked its way through the spectral branches, creating an illuminated patchwork on the forest floor. Her eyes became transfixed by a gleaming light emanating from a treasure lost amongst the litter of fallen leaves. She observed this found treasure, which was now hers to keep; a gift to her from within the depths of the Lost Forest."

GILLIAN creates each Looking Glass™ with intentional reverence to the passing seasons; observing the often unnoticeable changes in colour of the hedgerows and floral borders. The Looking Glass™ reflects the seasonality of Mother Nature’s botanical gifts. Gillian slowly composes and arranges every tiny wild find, and observes their idiosyncratic details until they form a miniature scene of a brief moment in time - forever preserved in a gilded enchanting locket. A Lost Forest™ treasure is a unique creation which is borne from a deep knowledge and understanding of Irish flora and folklore. Lost Forest™ is a little touch of magic found within our wild world.

LOST FOREST™ cares deeply about the world around us, and endeavours to use earth-friendly alternatives in both its jewellery pieces and packaging. All the botanicals are locally and sustainably harvested in small amounts from the Lost Forest farm and cottage garden to ensure that the natural ecology is largely undisturbed. Gillian also plants new seeds annually, along with investing a portion of her business profits into planting native tree and hedgerow species on the farm every year. Lost Forest™ is proud to be a small, independent, plastic-free, and cruelty-free business.
