'Wedding Dress Looking Glass'- Custom Bridal Jewellery

It’s been a while since I shared some of my custom creations. I’m only managing to find some time now to sort through my hard drive with thousands of images to still process- January seems to be an ideal month for the task. While scanning through the photos, I found this beautiful Looking Glass I made during the summer.

I was commissioned by the Bride’s lovely mom to create a special memento of her daughter’s wedding day. She had taken some snippets of lace from her dress during a fitting, and some sparkly beads. She had also dried out parts of her bouquet after the big day, and then sent all of the precious inclusions to me to conjure up a design. I decided to do something quite different with them, and it was nice to be trusted by my client to allow me the freedom to design it in a way that would work best. As the ivory roses and eucalyptus leaves were very large, I trimmed them down considerably, and formed them into miniature versions of leaves and petals. I created a floral garland around the contours of the frame, along with puffs of gyp for a lovely feminine and pretty look. The back layer showcased the lace and beads, creating a very interesting visual, especially when held up to the light.

It turned out to be a very beautiful piece, and striking in its unique character. After all, it’s good to be different.
