'Thank You'
My final resin Looking Glass collection went down a sweet treat with my wonderful customers. My heart was full, and I was immensely proud of my last collection of treasures. I was quite nervous before its release, as I usually am, but I was overwhelmed with the response, and the kindest messages from my customers and followers all over the world. It was quite an emotional day to say the least.
I can’t really ever express my gratitude to everyone who has purchased a piece over the last 8 years of my resin journey. Thank you for allowing me to continue to have the best job in the world. I say job, but for me it’s more than that. My craft is an extension of myself. It is part of my everyday life, and keeps me firmly grounded and happy.
I love to create in various mediums; upcycling furniture, interior design, painting, working with clay, flower pressing, mold making, gardening, baking, the list goes on. I’ve always created since a very young age, and it just comes very naturally to me. Working with my hands is what I’m best at. I would dream when I was a child of being an artist when I was a ‘grown- up’. I wasn’t exactly sure at that stage what kind of an artist I would become, but that vision never left me.
After a few wobbly years of ‘normal jobs’ and museum work (I was formally an archaeologist), I finally found my calling with resin. I have enjoyed my time working with this versatile and magical material, but I need to challenge myself further and move on. I know in my heart when the right time is to do so, and this feels like it. It is sad leaving a part of my story behind, but I am excited for the future and learning new skills.
For now, I will continue forging ahead with practice, experimentation and acquiring new knowledge, just as I did in the beginning of my resin journey. I hope my loyal followers and supporters will join me on this new adventure.
