'The Curiosity Cabinet'- 24k Gold Collection
The brand new collection ‘The Curiosity Cabinet’ is inspired by my love of collecting little treasures from my daily walks and adventures. I always love to display them within my vintage glass cabinet, and they provide me with endless inspiration and intrigue. I wanted to immortalise these nature finds into a limited edition collection of cast botanicals. Each find was foraged from either the farm hedgerows, fields or the bountiful Lost Forest cottage garden.
Firstly, I create handmade molds from each piece; recreating every tiny perfect detail. I then expertly craft each piece using high quality 99.9% fine silver for a solid and beautiful realistic replica of the original item.
Over the last few months I have been teaching myself the ancient Korean technique of Keum Boo, which is essentially a process using heat and pressure to permanently bond 24k gold foil to the fine silvers surface, creating a luxurious gilded exterior that is hard wearing and simply dazzling. The result is a stunning collection of unique gilded botanical treasures to remind you of the beauty and eternally fascinating creations found beneath our feet.
The collection is created in very small batches, and each one will contain various and differing botanical curiosities in each release. As always, each item is crafted by my own two hands, without the aid of machinery. I do hope you love this new collection as much as I do. They are some of my favourite pieces I’ve created so far.
