'A MONTH OF BLOSSOMS'- LIVING IN IRELAND

The Hawthorn has my heart, and May is the month we celebrate the fairy tree.

It is a sacred tree in Irish folklore that is allowed to freely blossom, and dominate the hedgerows due to its associations with the Fae. If anyone should cut a Hawthorn down or chop off a branch, the Fae who dwell beneath it, will bestow bad luck and misfourtune upon you. I’m grateful people to this day still pay respect to this beautiful tree, as it allows the May landscape to be enriched with such sweet clouds of white blossoms, creating an ethereal fairy-like panorama.

We decided to escape the farm for a bit and venture off to one of our favourite spots to enjoy some peaceful, quiet moments under the canopy of white jewels, and meadows sprinkled with wildflowers and daydreams. Hope you enjoy.- Gillian x
