'Gracie's Garden' - Pet Memorial Jewellery
When we lose a beloved pet, we lose a piece of our heart. it is the price we must pay for love.
Those precious memories and moments that are gathered together, form a strong and lasting impression deep within us. It is quite an amazing bond that humans share with little furry creatures that choose us to care for them, and love us no matter what.
My lovely client contacted me to create a bespoke Looking Glass in honour of her dear Gracie, who left this world for her next adventure. Gracie had the most brilliant green eyes, and radiant caramel-toned fur with black patches. Her unique colouring would form the whole basis for her miniature garden meadow.
Through our discussions, we decided upon a dynamic border of golden wild grasses, tendrils of moss, and woodland ferns. Gracie’s fur was delicately weaved in through this border, as if blowing on a gentle breeze.
We chose Spring-toned blossoms; bonny blue ceanothus, lilac heather buds, and a sprinkling of ivory and pale yellow ammi majus flowers. The central focus was a beautiful chamomile daisy, and a droplet of green prehnite - reminiscent of her sparkling eyes.
The result is a miniature Spring garden for Gracie to play and rest in, and a way for her owner to wear her close to her heart forever.
