'Wedding Day Details'

Another instalment from my wedding day from my endlessly talented sister, Rachel:

"As mentioned in my previous blog post, I designed my wonderful twin sister's wedding stationery and props. I used the invite as the main source of inspiration for the rest of the designs. Both myself and my sister are super creative, and we like to take on every opportunity to delve into our creative minds. We planned the table settings, made the welcome props, designed the mass booklets, and arranged the flowers for the church and bouquets - amongst many other things. It was a real DIY project - and everyone was overjoyed with the results.

I was also in charge of making the favour boxes. They were inspired by a love letter, and were filled with shiny DIY shredded tissue paper, and a special chocolate surprise. I used a vintage 'love' postage stamp, along with postal craft stamps, and a handwritten address in gold ink - all tied up with string! We placed the boxes on beautiful vintage floral side-plates that Airfield Estate luckily had in storage. 

In keeping with the wildflower theme, we decided to do something a little different to the usual table numbers, and instead named each table after a favourite wildflower. I illustrated each flower, printed them on beautiful cream card, and stuck each one on a wooden skewer - voila - a table card! We then placed them amongst colourful flowers in wicker pots, in the centre of each table.

I designed a large seating chart using the flower illustrations from the table cards. Above you can see how the tables were presented - with lots of greenery, and floral elements such as the plates, flowers, and menu cards. The library room in Airfield Estate is perfectly elegant, and I think our wildflower theme complimented it wonderfully.

And lastly, the large welcome poster which was placed in the glorious garden. Guests arrived in through the gate and were immediately met with the wildflower welcome and theme."
