'Wild Wallflowers'- Botanical Wall Hanging

Lost Forest is known the world over for my miniature floral landscapes; specialising in intricate details and minute precision. Only very rarely do I work on large scale resin work, but when I do it’s usually at the request of one or two patrons, as my busy schedule will only allow for a couple to be made per year.

This is one such piece, a stunning wildflower garden in the form of a resin wall hanging. The flowers are all grown in my own garden, as my client wanted all native Irish botanicals. The ferns, mushrooms, mosses and lichens were all foraged on the farm and hedgerows. The completed design also features a little (naturally expired) yellow jacket buzzing around within his new magical home.

The wall hanging was created using nearly ten layers of resin, displaying a wonderful sense of depth to the piece. It was a true labour of love, and I thoroughly enjoyed making it. It took 2 months to create; layering resin, sanding and polishing over and over again. I also made my own silicone mold especially for it, but I think we can all agree that it was all certainly worth it. A bespoke Irish garden that will bloom eternally within its new home.
