'A visit to Tír na nÓg'

The full splendour of autumn is now truly on display; glowing blackberry leaves like tiny panes of stained glass, the satisfying crunch under foot, and the cool crisp air that invigorates the soul. I always find this season to be particularly nostalgic, comforting and productive. I think the soft low light, and the rich golden hues of the landscape bring renewed energy in anticipation of the dark, cold winter ahead.

I’ve been busy working on the new collection, foraging and still pressing blooms from the garden. It seems we have had an extended period of growing in the garden thanks to the relatively mild days. I also been venturing down the farm lanes on long, languid walks with the kitties to visit Tír na nÓg; a beautiful white horse that grazes in our neighbours field. She instantly reminded me of Niamh’s fairy horse in the tale of Tír na nÓg, so it only seemed fitting to call her that. It may also have had something to do with the movie Into the West. Every Irish child growing up in the 90s will know that reference!

Here are a few little portraits of the beauty that is Tír na nÓg. -Gillian x
