'WINTER WONDERLAND'- MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM THE LOST FOREST
A shimmering shroud descended upon the farm recently. It is my favourite kind of weather; cold crisp days, enveloped by wide blue skies and winter sunshine. The farm takes on a sublime majesty; treetops powdered with snow, muddy lanes turned white and solid underfoot, and snowflakes dancing through the freezing air.
Although this weather is beautiful, it creates many challenges on the farm, particularly with freezing pipes for drinkers, and slippery slats in the parlour. Once the moo ladies are well fed and have a bed for the evening, they too seem happy and content.
Christmas is ever approaching, and seemingly it appears sooner and sooner as each year passes. The studio is closed now for the holidays, and my days are spent relaxing, taking long walks, crafting little projects, and penciling in ideas that are forever fluttering around in my head. Life takes on a slower pace, and it’s very much needed. A sort of hibernation sets in, and it’s certainly time to embrace it as the year draws to a close.
I’ll be taking some time away from social media and blogging for a little while, so I’d like to take this moment to thank everyone who has supported my art work this year, every purchase, like, comment, recommendation and review means so much to me. Wishing you and yours a very happy Christmas and a safe and healthy New Year. Hopefully I’ll see you again in the Lost Forest in 2023. -Gillian x
