'Miss Sooty's Garden'- custom memorial jewellery
The loss of a beloved pet is a heartache that is felt deeply and profoundly. A constant loyalty and love in our lives is suddenly not there anymore. It is felt each passing day, when they are not there to greet us, or comfort us, or simply curl up next us and be present.
I’m always honoured to create memorial jewellery; to celebrate the life of a dear friend, and keep their memory alive, and close to us. This piece is in memory of a sweet fluffy bun lady, named Miss Sooty. The floral border is speckled with pastel wildflowers all imbued with a hidden language; wild carrot represents sanctuary, mountain heather for luck and protection, and a dainty dandelion seed symbolising innocence and playfulness. Sitting within this tiny paradise is a single droplet of rose quartz. It represents unconditional love, healing and inner peace. Her beautiful charcoal grey fur has been intricately weaved through a border of native Irish moss, indicating reflection and transience, and lichens, representing new beginnings and purity.
Miss Sooty’s unique personality and memory will forever be encapsulated within a magical eternal garden. -Gillian x
