'Our Garden of Memories'- Custom Looking Glass
As the Lost Forest shop is now officially closed for the Christmas period, I can begin to showcase some of the custom pieces I have had the honour to create for my customers. One such item is this stunning Lost Forest signature Looking Glass™ necklace. I received a message from a lovely customer who commissioned me to create a Looking Glass™ in memory of her mom who recently passed away. She sent me pale blush and magenta pink rose petals that she had pressed from her moms garden, and also a few tiny hydrangea petals.
Upon our discussions during the design process, we decided to create a miniature memorial garden that was brimming with personal sentiment. It also included Irish wildflowers, ferns and grasses to complete the tiny garden. I trimmed and shaped the rose petals into tiny versions, and used them within the embracing border. Each botanical element had a personal meaning for my customer, and I chose them very carefully. Strength, maternal love, hope and a new journey in life were just some of the important metaphors in the pendant.
The result is a beautiful heirloom necklace that will allow my customer to carry her most precious memories with her for always.
